Jodi Albert



Jodie Mary Albert (born 22 July 1983) is an English actress and singer, best known for playingDebbie Dean in the British soap opera Hollyoaks, on Channel 4 from 2002 to 2004. Returning for guest appearances in 2005 & 2006 and her inclusion as one fifth of Irish girl group Wonderland.

Biography

Albert attended the independent fee-paying Sylvia Young Theatre School, and shared lessons with Lee Ryan, Matt Willis, Billie Piper, Gem Allen (Stonefoxx) and Amy Winehouse. At the age of ten, she played the part of Young Cosette in Les Misérables at London's Palace Theatre.

Career
After leaving school she was in the short-lived British girlband Girl Thing, who had a top ten hit in the United Kingdom in 2000 with the songLast One Standing.

In 2002 she joined the cast of soap opera Hollyoaks on Channel 4, playing Debbie Dean. She left in 2005, but returned for guest appearances in 2005 and 2006. In 2005, Albert won the British Soap Award for Sexiest female for her role in Hollyoaks.

After leaving Hollyoaks, Albert appeared in the reality television series California Dreaming, in a bid to make it in Hollywood, leaving the series before its conclusion. Since then she has appeared in: Five sitcom Respectable; Casualty and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries for the BBC; and the British film Popcorn, opposite ex-EastEnders star Jack Ryder.

Albert has posed for numerous photoshoots for several men's magazines including Maxim and FHM. She is featured in Maxim's 'Girls of Maxim' gallery, also being named three times in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women list: #93 in 2003; #73 in 2004; and #65 in 2005.

In 2008 Albert became part of Irish-based girlgroup Wonderland, formed through auditions arranged by her husband, in partnership with music manager Louis Walsh.

Personal life

Albert married Kian Egan, a member of the Irish boy band Westlife, in 2009, in Barbados.
